Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Paul Giamatti and Kate Winslet Win Top Honors In the 8th Annual Online Film Critics Society Awards

NEW YORK, January 10, 2005 -- Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind won five awards including Best Picture in the 8th Annual Online Film Critics Society Awards. The awards were voted by the 150-member Online Film Critics Society, the international professional association of Internet-based cinema journalists.

In addition to Best Picture, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind won awards for Michel Gondry as Best Director, Kate Winslet as Best Actress, Charlie Kaufman for Best Original Screenplay and Valdís Óskarsdóttir for Best Editing.

Sideways scored three awards: Paul Giamatti for Best Actor, Thomas Haden Church for Best Supporting Actor, and Alexander Payne and Jim Taylor for Best Adapted Screenplay Award.

Cate Blanchett was named Best Supporting Actress for her performance in The Aviator. The Chinese epic Hero won two awards: as Best Foreign-Language Film and Christopher Doyle won the Best Cinematography honors. Fahrenheit 9/11 was named Best Documentary and The Incredibles won Best Animated Feature and the Best Music Score honors for Michael Giacchino.
